Don't Vote for Me! Vote for Someone Else!

I have been nominated for Poet Laureate of the Blogosphere.

I’ve no idea what it’s all about or why I have been nominated, but I better start a campaign. So here it is.

Don’t vote for me! Vote for someone else!
I would be a crap Poet Laureate of anything. I would shirk all my responsibilities, and if I had none, I would make some up and impose myself unnecessarily on people’s lives.

I’m saving my vote until the end of the week for the person most likely to finish one ahead of me. I’d urge all my readers to do the same. So I’ll repeat my slogan – Don’t Vote For Me! Vote For Someone Else!

Sorry, it's too late. I already voted for you. :-)

Better be careful about reverse psychology here.

Don't worry. This is only the start of the campaign. I have plenty of ideas to make myself irredeemably unpopular e.g. insult and humiliate all my fellow nominees, post endless blog entries on the intricacies of Scottish football, openly endorse poetry.com, leave pointless statements in comments boxes all over the blogworld, and so on.

Any other ideas gratefully accepted. It's not just losing that's important. The idea is to finish as far down the order as possible.

This is almost exactly what I said to my son when he lost his soccer game 11-2.

I already voted for you as well. Sorry!

openly endorse poetry.com - hehe, but I won't believe you until you endorse them to the point that you can provide incontrovertible proof - lemme know what edition you're gonna appear in, okay?

*grin*

and welcome back, btw.

No, not particularly. Although I have looked at the sites of some of the other nominees. They are pretty good and I'm glad to have found them. I may even link to a few of them once I get my act together.

I know I said I would be rude to the other nominees, but I'll...um... do that some other time.

Looks like you may be a reluctant winner Rob! Some of the other sites do look interesting, but there are not enough hours in the day, a fewer reasons to be indoors during them at this time of year.

No, I'm not going to win.

But yes, there are so many blogs and so few I can keep up with on anything even slightly resembling a regular basis.

Hi Rob, I'm one of the poets you hope will beat you! LOL I'm trying to make contact this week with everyone on the list. If we get to know each other, we all win.
Helen Losse

This will come up DeadMule because I'm the Poetry Editor there.

Thanks for visiting, Helen, and good luck. I've just checked and you are fast catching up on me. I might vote for you if you get much closer.

Cheers.
