Oh, I've just heard... Apparently, you can buy it now (ignore the publication date of 1st March) from Salt here - http://www.saltpublishing.com/books/smp/9781844715138.htm. Don't all stampede at once!
I am writing a horrendously complex funding application – to do with work, not poetry. It has killed off my poetic imagination, but (I hope) not for good. I must now get back to it. Procrastination is tempting, very tempting, but finishing the form – besides being vital for a community project – is now important for my sanity.
Congratulations, Rob. No feeling like it. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Impressed by what I've seen of Salt publications online.
ReplyDeleteWhoop! Whoop! Whoop! Can't wait to see it for real, Rob. Of course, I can wait even less to see "The Ambulance Box" for real, though I suspect a rush down to the post depot early tomorrow morning will be necessary ...
ReplyDelete(Word verification: nocisati, which sounds like a form of pasta.)
Looks great, Rob. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Have you got any outsiders in to proof-read too? With my pamphlet, my friend Charlotte offered to, and spotted two typos that had been staring me in the face for days.
ReplyDeletePS. My word was 'vagan', Andrew. I wonder would a vagan be allowed to eat nocisati?!
It has occurred to me before to write a poem purely using words from the word verification box. Lately they seem to have become much more musical.
Cheers, everyone.
ReplyDeleteMatt, it has been proof-read by a few people. However - if there are still errors - it's too late now!
Congratulations Rob. I'm looking forward to buying a signed copy at your launch - and Andy's too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I look forward to reading it in due course..
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Rob - must be a great feeling. Looking forward to reading it.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Rob! Look forward to reading it!!
ReplyDeleteI wish it had arrived on Monday! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI just ordered myself one!
ReplyDeleteYeeha Rob - it looks great. There's nothing like holding the first copy of your first collection. It makes it seem real, but also makes it seem like it's gone from you: like that bit is finally done.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to get my copy, ordering very soon!
Thanks, everyone. Really, very much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteApparently Salt need to sell 310 copies just to break even, which, for a poetry collection, is a tall order!
Well done, Rob, and congratulations. I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteWord verification: consomp, verb meaning to eat soup.
Just been reading about Salt virtual tours. Very Like A Whale would be honored and delighted to host you for a portion of yours, should that work for you, at any point.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again!
A poem from The Opposite of Cabbage (which is what, exactly?!) is now up on Raw Light, as a taster of the book. Part of a selfless, promotional 'Short Season of Other Poets' on my blog.
ReplyDeleteGosh, if I keep going like this, I may even qualify for sainthood one of these days.
Nic, I'd be pleased to visit your blog on a virtual tour.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks, also, Tony and Jane.
Great! I'll let you know once my copy of your book has arrived and I've had a chance to read it. Look forward to both the reading and your visit.
ReplyDeleteYes, many congratulations. The PDF was very good.
