Song Of The Clyde

Artist, Douglas Robertson, asked me if he could post my poem, Nuclear Submarines, from The Opposite of Cabbage, to his blog along with an image of one of his carvings, Song of the Clyde. You can see the result here. I love the carving. Goes with the poem perfectly.

It is a lovely carving. I also really like the poem, particularly your "autistic sharks ballooning" simile which really struck me when I first read it in the book.

It's perfect! I saw a loch and a wide bare sky when I read it, but this is so industrial and just sits better with it.
