Kenneth Koch Audio

Kenneth Koch’s One Train May Hide Another is, I think, a terrific poem, and it’s great to hear him read it at the link.

Would you believe that today is the first time I have ever heard Kenneth Koch’s voice? Sometimes the Internet is fantastic.

A really interesting reading of a good poem. Very satisfying. Hearing him, I caught echoes of O'Hara - they were friends - and it's a fine example of the list poem, one of Koch's trademarks.

I like the poem a lot - it's the one Koch poem that always springs to mind. There are parts where I think he spells things out a bit too much, but on the other hand that's probably necessary to the tone of the poem. Anything too cool and considered just wouldn't feel the same.
