New Writing 15

You can now get hold of New Writing 15, the latest edition of the annual anthology of poetry and prose published by Granta/British Council.

I have two poems in it – In the Last Few Seconds and Lighter, but if that doesn’t tempt you, there are poems from the likes of Moniza Alvi, Robin Robertson, Fiona Sampson, and Henry Shukman, prose from Julian Barnes, Anita Desai, Alasdair Gray, Doris Lessing, Zoe Strachan, and a host of others – many names unknown to me who can certainly write really well.

Sounds excellent, Rob. New Writing is definitely one of the best showcases of new talent each year. Well done on getting your poems into it: I won't deny the fact that I'm a bit envious! But then 'In the Last Few Seconds' is one of my favourite poems of yours; a good place in which to put a very good poem.

Thanks.

And Ben, you've had poems in Poetry Review and the TLS. Leave some space for everyone else!

Nice work, Rob and well deserved. I've tried that, but being Irish disqualified me, even though I grew up in NI. Ah well.

You might be interested in acquiring The Book Of Hopes And Dreams, which also has a stellar cast, inc Moniza Alvi, Tony Harrison, Margaret Atwood, Carol Ann Duffy, Simon Armitage. It was published for the Scottish charity, Spirit Aid. See http://www.rimbaud.org.uk/bookofhope.html for more details.

Also, as a Scottish poet, d'you want to exchange blog links
