Questions for Poets

Poets are asking questions! And answering them too. To be exact, Nic S from Very Like a Whale is asking a batch of poets (one each week) 10 questions on the subject of publication. I’m tempted to have a shot at these myself.

In addition, Poet Hound has 5 more questions and asks you to email her your answers, which she’ll post to her blog next month. I did it a couple of days ago.

Rob,
Thank you for answering my questions, I've copied and pasted them so that I can post them in March. Also, thank you for providing a link so that others can also answer. I had only one response so far and now have several, thank you.
Sincerely,
Poet Hound

Thanks for the link! Would love to link to your 10 answers on the 10Q standing page should you get around to answering them. All best, Nic

It's very thought-provoking this series of questions, I'll try to reflect about it in my blog and then try to answer the questions.
My point is essentially that making the effort to find a publisher is preceded by the stamina that must come from feeling that writing keeps coming, wuthout this there is no spark making one face and walk on the hard path, full of rejections, that is submitting to a publisher.
Even submitting to magazines is for me an act depending on how much I feel I can write in that moment.
So the past work's entering the world depends on a positive feeling about the present and the future work.

Glad you got some responses, Poet Hound.

Interesting perspective, Davide. I haven't ever thought that way. I try to publish whatever seems to me to hit the mark, no matter how I'm writing in the present. But your approach is intriguing.
